Kevin believes these photos show his great grandmother Mary McNeil, at Shohola, at some point between April 1884 and 1887.
Presumably this is the Shohola suspension bridge with multiple main cables seen. The Shohola bridge was significantly modified and strengthened after the early failure of the original 1855 bridge. This included adding a midstream tower resulting in some main cables passing over the new tower and same main cables bypassing the midstream tower.
A crop of the previous photo. Twisted strand cables were used in suspension bridges in the mid-1850s.
The two women at the Shohola Train Station presumably taken on the same day as the prior photograph.
