Patrick writes: "The chain links are not affixed to the anchorages. Instead, there is a rod that serves as a main cable from anchorages to towers. On the mainspan side of the towers it is a bar with splice plates welded at joints. At least two photos where that is visible. The towers are hollow at the turrets with no access other than the visible openings higher up outside of the mainspan. There appears to be a pole support running the height, perhaps to support a saddle and or whatever method used to close off the tops of the turrets. The suspenders are minimal, and many are taking up zero load. I pulled on about a dozen suspenders and three have no load, two are very taunt, and the remaining having various levels of sloppiness when tugging on them."
