Five similar Dredge type footbridges (designed using James Dredge's taper system) were built in 1842 in London's Regent's Park. Two were 75-foot spans crossing Regent's Canal near the zoological gardens. Three, the largest of which had a 150-foot span, crossed "ornamental waters" throughout the park. It is not clear which of the five is depicted here.
