Dave notes some uncertainty regarding the name of the waterway crossed. The river connects Loch Voil and Loch Lubnaig and is sometimes referred to as "River Balvaig", "River Balvag", and "Waters of Lubnaig". Dave writes: "it is located just to the southwest of Strathyre. It is on the route of the dismantled Callander and Oban Railway. The southern abutment appears to be a mixture of brick and stone. The brick used to increase the width of the older stone structure in order to mount the suspension bridge towers. I did not get a view of the north abutment. The towers and deck supports appear to be made from plated steel."
"Suspension cable to support bar detail."
"The south tower."
"Top of the south tower viewed from the bridge deck. It looks as thought the extension that now supports the cable is a later addition. Possibly added within the last few years after the bridge had been closed/rebuilt due to flood damage."
"Looking north."
"Looking south from the route of the old trackbed."
"One of the north end cable anchors. On the surface identical to the south end."
"Wooden bridge deck with anti-slip strips."
"Looking down onto the end of a deck support and suspension bar."
