Dave writes: " All photos were taken from the north east end of the bridge. The bridge has two suspended spans with a pier in the centre of the river and in many ways is unlike any other bridge I have visited. It appears to be possibly a wrought iron construction. Not a true suspension bridge but the main spans a combination of shallow arches and suspension rods. The river bank on the north east side of the river is made up of large stone blocks. Hearsay has it the that the council closed the bridge for safety reasons after a storm. That no-one has admitted ownership/responsibility."
"This photo shows the top of the tower located on the central pier. The top of the gates are visible along with the damaged lamp. The lamps appear to be electric and I feel that at least the wiring is not original."
"Top of the towers on the southwestern side of the bridge."
"Looking along the bridge to the pair of locked gates between the central towers."
"The gates ate secured by padlock and chain. A waste bin on its side I have no idea why it is there."
"The central pier. The three piers appear to be concrete. The centre pier has a T section piece of what a appears to be of ferrous metal protecting its upstream edge."
"Central tower and gates."
