"Looking down on the Kapalua resort from my island hopper flight. While I know where the bridge is, it's not readily visible here. It's about 60% of the way up from the bottom of the image and 55% of the way in from the left side of the image."
"Looking down gulch towards the coast."
"Close up of the bamboo within the gulch."
"Looking up mountain on the way to the job site."
"Looking back down where we just came from."
"A rare view of the backside of a rainbow in the MORNING looking WEST! I just don't recall ever seeing a rainbow in the morning, nor looking westward. Shot on the drive up to the job site one morning."
"On the lower slopes are the pineapple fields that we traverse every morning and evening."
"I found this nearby tree growing out of a timber fence post interesting."
"While atop the south tower looking across the 360 feet to the north tower."
"Quite the opposite of the previous photo as I'm now down in the gulch looking up at the north tower."
"About fifty yards from the previous photo is where this was shot from. Here the dry streambed comes to a fall of ~80 feet."
"Looking down from the crest of that fall. We have no idea what the cable is for. There is a small dam 15 yards upstream (behind me in this shot) that during the wetter winter months collects and diverts water for the pineapple fields below. Perhaps the cable is left over from the construction of that dam."
"From the crest of the fall looking down the Kaopala Gulch towards the coast and of Molokai Island across the channel. Note the lines at the top of the image running horizontally- these are ziplines, as are the lines running at a diagonal just below those."
"Zipliners. We were entertained throughout the day with their shrieks and screams. In the last week on the job we had our chance to do the zipline course and found it pretty timid. Oh it was cool, but after working hundreds of feet up for several weeks we had all become acclimated to the heights."
"Shot while I was in the bosuns chair adjusting suspenders at mid-span for plumb. Carroll and Gabe making a 'gully run'. Carroll from the south, with Gabe from the north. With the bridge not quite completed 'gully runs' where a daily event. Even the best forethought and planning couldn't eliminate them. Most of the time a gully run is a solo effort and is a complete round trip. In this case it was a 'meet you in the gully' run - thus halfway. The trail passes right over the crest of the dam mentioned earlier, with Carroll shown in the one photo atop it."
"On a day off (the day we also did the zipline course), several of us hung out at the bridge site prior to doing the ziplines. Gabe repelled from mid-span down into the gulch and hiked out. I took the time to get a measurement of the bridge's height above the bottom of the gulch using a three hundred foot tape measure. I'm calling it at 200 feet!"
