Patrick writes: "While it may appear that this bridge is a suspension bridge, the deck is not really suspended. The cabling does provide additional stabilization to the already sturdy beams making up the deck. I suspect that this bridge replaced a more traditional swinging/suspension bridge that once existed at this location." Patrick notes the stairs (visible in two photos near the end of this set) predate the current bridge.
