Patrick took these photos in the summer of 2002. Patrick writes: "Of note is the addition of the second elevated walkway (would've been a tow path) to the upstream side of the bridge." Compare with my photos from the early 1990s showing the partially restored bridge.
A cross-section of the aqueduct's trough. The high horizontal cross-beams at the extreme left and right would carry the towpaths.
