These photos were taken in March of 2007. My first visit to this bridge was in the mid-1990s.
The appearance of this bridge is similar to that of the 19th-century "braced chain" suspension bridges promoted by Gustav Lindenthal. Those rare bridges had two sets of eyebar main "cables" connected by rigid members. On the Lumberville bridge, note the two sets of main wire cables connected by rigid members.
