Part 2, Section B is the main section of Jakkula's document. This 318-page section is a chronological annotated bibliography of metallic suspension bridges dated from 200 B.C. through 1940. At the time it was published, it was the most comprehensive suspension bridge list.

This reconciliation is still very much in progress. Approximately 220 bridges remain unmatched against my historical list.

1831 Micklewood Bridge - Scotland, over the river Forth Charles Stewart Drewry's 1832 book, A Memoir of Suspension Bridges (MOS), contains a sketch of this bridge (and a description) showing it as an "underspanned" suspension bridge where the deck sits on top of the catenary cable: "This bridge deserves notice from the platform being supported upon iron frames standing upon the chains, instead of being suspended from them." Generally, I've excluded such bridges from my inventory. See 1834 Ile aux Barques for an example of a contemporary underspanned suspension bridge.

They have solid plate girder decks and I doubt the design dates to 1902. Jakkula describes the 1902 structure as having "low stiffening trusses," but also "stiffened by two girders." Likely, the two current bridges were constructed 1920-1950 and the one closest to Vernaison was likely a replacement for Jakkula's 1902 bridge.
