The falls drop 620 feet. Other web sites proclaim this to be "second highest year-round waterfall in the nation." It was already a popular attraction before the small arch bridge was completed in 1914. The falls are often photographed for the ghostly appearance of the falling water (a result of the dark gorge and low shutter speeds).
