Postmarked in 1933, this postcard either shows the bridge that collapsed in 1931 while undergoing a load test, or the temporary bridge built to support light traffic following the load test. Ultimately a new suspension bridge, that is still in use (as of the early 2020s), was completed in 1941 to replace the bridge that should have opened in 1931.
