The first suspension bridge between Lamothe and Brioude, but likely not the original suspension system pictured here. In 1866, a major flood shifted the course of the Allier to the east such that the main channel no longer flowed under this bridge. The bridge wasn't destroyed. In the 1880s, a different bridge was built over the new main channel. As of the 2020s, all of the pylons from this bridge are still standing.

The second suspension bridge, built just east of the first bridge. It was dismantled in 1977, but like the first bridge, the pylons are all still standing as of the 2020s.
