Dave writes: "One thing I did notice about the bridge is that the main towers are pivoted at their base. See [the fourth photo below]. Both towers have two plaques on their crossbars. The outer ones are a coat of arms. Don't know whose. They don't appear to belong to Hereford or Herefordshire. They look quite like Queen Victoria's coat of arms. The others are manufacturer's plates [for Alexander Findlay and Co.]. I have also included a photo of a plaque mounted on a plinth near the bridge."
