Inventory: Lists | Log | References | Condensed | Search

This is a list of all 2 bridges from the suspension bridge inventory crossing Octoraro Creek. Please note that different rivers with the same name will be grouped together. For example, selecting 'Bear Creek' shows bridges across several different Bear Creeks. Also, similarly named rivers are grouped separately. For example, 'River Dee' (UK) bridges are grouped separately from 'Dee River' (Australia) bridges. Wherever you see a "Bridgemeister ID" number you can click it to isolate the bridge on its own page. Notes
  • Rush Wickes writes: "It collapsed once during the mid-1980's due to being overloaded by mischievous Scout campers. It was subsequently rebuilt, explaining the mismatched steel and wood tower combination. The "W" in the tower may very well refer to the phrase, 'Wimachtendienk, Wingolauchsik, Witahemui', or WWW, a motto of the Order of the Arrow honor group. The Octararo lodge of the honor group has its ceremonial fire pit just beyond the steel tower."
